Hello Professor,
My cousin just came back from a trip to Holland and said the people he stayed with were growing the weirdest marijuana plants he had ever seen. They told him it was a strain called Ducksfoot because the leaves were webbed and looked like a ducks foot. He said most of the plants had purple buds and they had a really heady high. He didn’t think to take a picture, but he isn’t one to lie. Can you tell me anything about this Ducksfoot strain?
Thanks
Trenton
Hello Trenton,
Yep, Ducksfoot is a real thing. It’s the result of a natural mutation where the leaves don’t resemble normal cannabis, but look like a duck’s foot. The original Ducksfoot is a clone only strain and isn’t available as seed so it’s quite rare. However, there are a few seed variations, such as Frisian Duck, that have similar looking leaves and are available on the market if you’re lucky enough to find them.
Some people collect mutant strains of cannabis as curiosities. A few of these strains can become famous and garner great demand. Remember that if you ever come across a really odd plant.
Great question.
