However it makes you feel, the start of 2018 looks set to continue the 2017 trend of heavily auto-tuned, poorly enunciated ‘mumble rap’.
After making a name for themselves online through various different social media platforms and audio outputs like Soundcloud this duo deliver decently catchy, snare heavy beats laced with endless repetition and a vague suggestion that they have fallen out with their partner (who they pushed out the door, allegedly).
I think that it’s fair to say that music can be quite divisive and not everything will be everyone’s cup of tea, but this just came across as being a bit pointless. As they were seen as one of the breakout stars of last year I was hoping that this could be an indication of something great to come.
Right now, if this is a good example of what they want to do, I’m pretty far from being convinced. (2.5)
