Flip to the other side of the Atlantic and this young man is certainly making waves for himself on the ever-rising Grime scene.
Octavian mixes up his style consistently between rapping, spoken word and melodic singing in a smooth and free-flowing manner that draws you in and gets your attention.
At times his harmonies sounds like a more rugged Ed Sheeran (on some of his earlier music especially) but his open and honest approach to music presents a polar opposite in terms of what he lives with on a daily basis. Despite the song’s upbeat minimal beat and title this is a song about what it’s like to live on the streets of London in the modern age.
Glimpsing over numerous social issues and contemplating what the driving forces in his life are, Octavian manages to blur the lines between genres and carve out a sound of his own. (4)
