It’s always nice to discover a new author who is doing their own thing and David J. Khan has (to date) released a number of novels spanning a range of contemporary genres. Sons of Trillion has now hit the online shelves (the first trilogy in a series of six books in total) and takes place in a fictional world, Talos, which shares many similarities with our universe but has some incredibly magical twists. Khan does a fine job of building a believable and immersive world for his story to unfold and manages to intertwine some typically human questions of morality and trust into his fantastical realm with a charm that is engaging and warm. The titular Trillion is a powerful being whose sense of loyalty is tested when his child-to-be is recognized as a prophesized being who is believed to be the bringer of ultimate doom. An intriguing first instalment which paves the way for a cracking series. (4)
