That’ll cure the munchies!
A Massachusetts company says it set a record for baking the world’s largest cannabis-infused brownie, which measures three-foot by three-foot and is filled with 20,000 milligrams of THC.
The average joint contains 320 milligrams of the drug, meaning the 850-pound brownie is loaded with enough THC to roll 63 marijuana cigarettes.
MariMed Inc., the cannabis company that produced the sweet treat, unveiled it in December 8 – National Brownie Day – in celebration of its new brand Bubby’s Baked.
Its public relations stunt caught the attention of late night host Jimmy Kimmel, who quipped about the brownie during his Wednesday night monologue.
The show shared a picture of confectioners posing near the massive baked good, and zoomed in on the face of a man who seemed especially delighted with the creation.
‘Gee, I wonder which one of them taste tested that brownie,’ Kimmel said. ‘And when asked why they baked the world’s largest brownie, no one could remember.’
The Guinness World Record for the largest brownie belongs to Something Sweet Bake Shop in Daphne, Alabama, which whipped up a 234-pound brownie on September 12, 2013.
If validated, MariMed’s creation would crush that record with its dessert that’s more than three-and-a-half times the size.
The company initially planned to sell the gigantic hunk of chocolate to a medical patient in Massachusetts, but found it too logistically challenging to do so, spokesman Howard Schacter told DailyMail.com.
‘We are trying to figure out what to do,’ he said.
Other ingredients included 1,344 eggs, 81 pounds of flour and untold amounts of sugar, TMZ reported.
The company mixing up smaller batches of the mind-altering treats through its new line, which it said are ‘perfect for sharing high times with friends this holiday season.’
Flavors include brownie, chocolate chip, and snickerdoodle.
The snacks are only available in Massachusetts right now, but the company said it plans to expand to Maryland and Delaware next year.
Things don’t always end well for those consuming edibles.
In Stafford, England, a man repeatedly stabbed, strangled and ran over his girlfriend during a psychotic episode in November 2020 after eating a cannabis brownie, a court heard last month.
