As one of only a few sectors likely to emerge unscathed from the Brexit drama
It’s normal to have a hard time sleeping sometimes — but when struggling to sleep becomes a regular occurence and even interferes with your daily life, it’s not normal. Though it is common.
There are a number of treatments for insomnia and other forms of difficult sleep, and one of them is cannabidiol (commonly known as CBD). CBD oil could be helpful if you’re having a hard time sleeping, whether it’s occasional or on a regular basis. And it’s especially helpful for those who struggle to sleep due to pain or anxiety.
What CBD Oil Can Help With
CBD oil could be a solution for insomnia — or help another condition that’s causing insomnia, like chronic pain or mental health issues.
-
Pain: If you suffer from chronic pain, it could be keeping you up at night. Conditions with chronic pain such as arthritis or multiple sclerosis may be alleviated with CBD use, as it can ease inflammation. With less pain, you may have an easier time getting to sleep.
-
Anxiety: Feeling anxious, stressed, or depressed might keep you up at night. Especially if stressful or anxious thoughts run through your mind as you’re trying to sleep. CBD oil can help encourage the release of serotonin, which can be soothing and alleviate anxiety, helping you sleep better instead of staying up feeling stressed.
-
Sleep disorders: Some sleep disorders may show improvement with CBD use, including insomnia and REM behavior disorder. CBD oil could help you prolong your sleep time, or even help you feel more alert during the day It may also minimize symptoms of REM behavior disorder so you’re less active and more restful during sleep.
Could You Benefit From CBD Oil?
CBD oil might be a good choice for you if pain, anxiety, or insomnia keep you up at night. Though it has some known side effects, they are minimal, making CBD oil a low risk drug for sleep. If you have been considering taking sleep medication or over the counter supplements for sleep, trying CBD oil first is a good idea (and may be more effective).
You can use CBD oil at night to alleviate insomnia or conditions causing sleep difficulty. Timing can depend on how you’re consuming CBD oil. Vaping can offer an immediate effect, while capsules, tinctures, or topical applications may take longer. But while the effects of vaped CBD might wear off more quickly, ingestion methods could offer a more prolonged effect if you need help sleeping through the night.
Another option is using CBD during the day. In small doses, CBD could help you feel more alert and less sleepy. This could be especially helpful if you’re tired from a rough night of sleep.
CBD isn’t for everyone, but it’s a relatively low risk and easy application to try if you’re not sleeping well at night and haven’t found relief from other methods.
