Hello Professor,
I have a habit of breaking branches and I usually just wrap them up with twisty ties and wooden splints. This seems to work about half the time. I wanted to know if you think adding cloning gel to the break would speed up the healing process or lead to higher success rates.
Thanks,
Emma
Hey Emma,
I strongly advise you not to use cloning gel in this way. It contains Indole-3 Butryic acid and you don’t want that in the wound. The best thing you can do is act quickly and prevent as much oxygen as possible from getting to the tissues. One of the best tools I have in my arsenal is a roll of simple duct tape. When dealing with a break I line up things as best as possible and wrap the break with duct tape then I use a pencil, wooden stake, or similar item to splint the break till it heals. With practice I have my success rate in the high 90% range.
Keep growing!
Professor Lee
