Professor Lee,
For certain reasons I want to speed up the flowering process of my plants by at least a week. They are just now starting to flower. Are there any tricks to making this happen or do I just need to harvest early and accept the lower quality and weight?

Simon,
Simply harvesting before it’s finished would be one option but, a better one might be to reduce the floral light cycle from 12 on 12 off to something more like 10 to 11 on and 13 to 14 off. This will trick the plant to ripen earlier. The buds will be of a higher quality but again the weight will be proportionally lighter. If you have the inclination you can buy a multi-day programmable timer and set a 24 hour on 12 hours off schedule that will speed up the flowering time without sacrificing weight.
I hope this answers your question
