Get the cooker fired up - hot hot hot
INGREDIENTS
2 tsp Coconut oil
3/4 onion – chopped
1 clove of garlic
3 cups canned peeled tomatoes, chopped and juice!
1 cup shelled hemp seed
1/3 cup of water
3 tbls chilli powder – add more to heat it up
2 tsp molasses
3/4 tsp cumin
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp back pepper
1-1/2 cups canned kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1-1/2 cups canned black eyed beans
1 jalapeno pepper – optional
Time to get your apron on !!
Heat the coconut oil in a heavy saucepan over a medium heat, and then saute the onion and garlic until softened (not coloured)
Stir in the remaining ingredients (minus the beans) and bring to the boil.
Reduce the hear to medium/low and simmer for 15 minutes.
Now its time to add the beans and simmer for another 20-30 minutes, adding water in the chilli becomes to thick.
Finally, stir the jalapeno pepper into the mix before serving.
Ideal to serve with warm toasted rolls.
