I have a four plants growing under a 600 watt MH lamp. Each plant is in a 5 gallon bucket filled with store bought potting soil. Everything was going great until a couple weeks ago when the leaves started to turn yellow and brown and then completely die.
I want to buy my first HID grow light, and there are a ton of choices at my local head shop. I know that I want to buy a HPS light, but I don’t know what kind of fixture I should get. I don’t want to spend a lot of time having an in depth conversation with a sales person. I can afford a 400 watt lamp and will be growing in an area about a square yard in size. Any advice would be great!

I’m confused by LEDs. I understand that LEDs use electricity more efficiently than HIDs which is why you can use a lower wattage LED to do the work of a more powerful HID, but I was looking at a few and noticed that the numbers don’t match up.
