CANNA BUTTER USING NEBULA BOOST

Weed World recently reviewed the Nebula Boost.

As you know we recently received the Nebula Boost to review. Once we decarboxylated the CBD flower (you can use Cannabis as well). We decided to create our own Canna butter.

Canna butter is a quick and easy way of creating either a base for your infused cannabis / CBD edibles or to be used on its own.

Please refer to our previous video and article ‘When creating edibles at home, it is important to activate the psychoactive benefits in your THC or CBD flower before creating the end product. You must slowly heat the THC or CBD flower at a low temperature over a period of time, this process is called “decarboxylation”.  Nebula Boost has taken away the messy process of doing this in your oven and it has created an easy to use, sterile environment with a steady heating process in a compact unit. Literally plug and go with reduced smell.’

Our Canna Butter recipe:

1. ½ cup of butter (we couldn’t fit more than that in the Nebula Boost) you could melt a larger amount of butter if you wanted more canna butter but for this article / video it is to show how to complete the process
2. 2 grams of ground decarboxylated CBD flower (you can use up to 5 grams or more depending on the strength of edibles you desire)
3. ½ cup of water

To note – homemade edibles are difficult to gage an accurate dosing and you should be aware there is no way to guarantee the potency and consistency will be with each batch.

Method

We added the butter, decarboxylated CBD flower and water in the green silicon chamber / sleeve.

The time was set for 40mins and temperature we set at 180°F – the infusing should be ideally above 160°F but never exceed 200°F.  Nebula Boost recommend infusing for approx. 30mins (and no longer than 2hours at the max).

Once you have completed the process, use a strainer (a sieve / cheesecloth / muslin cloth to collect the remaining flower) and a container to catch the butter and pour.  Then place your Canna butter in a container and place in the fridge once it has cooled down.

You may have excess water; you can remove the solid butter with a knife and drain the water out.

Dosing

It’s useful to note that your butter’s potency will depend on multiple factors this can include what strain you used, if it is Indica / Sativa / THC / CBD, how long and what temperature was used to decarb it.

If you are just going to use the canna butter on its own test how potent it is by spreading it on a cracker or toast, try a small amount to start off with no more than ¼ teaspoon and then increase if needed.  Remember ingesting edibles they do take a while before you feel anything. This can be roughly 30-90mins.

We thoroughly enjoyed using the Nebula Boost, it is very easy to use and is compact, so it doesn’t take up too much space. We would definitely recommend this product.
