After the conclusion of season 1, I was excited to see more of Luke Cage’s escapades but the jury is still out as to whether the second season fully delivers on my expectations.
The main storyline follows the continuing issues of the criminal underworld as it attempts to expand while the plucky Mr. Cage upsets their activities at every turn, but the more entertaining aspect comes from the protagonist attempting to figure out how he wants to be perceived by the general public.
In the first few episodes he is coming to grips with his new-found fame, which makes for some entertaining interactions and asks the question of the importance of having positive role models for young people, but once he settles back into being an all-round neighbourhood crusader I couldn’t help but feel like the series was running out of steam. Thankfully, the latter stages of the series deliver a satisfying conclusion which make worthy of your streaming time
