"I once couldn't get out of bed and now I feel I could backflip out of bed."
Danny Battershill has suffered with eczema all of his life, being hospitalised more than 60 times in the past few years with the worst stay being for eight months due to a number of blood infections.
He has lived with numerous medications for years, including morphine, steroids, sleeping tablets, antidepressants, opiates and immunotherapy along with various creams.
“My skin completely breaks down and which causes blood infections. At times, I have had paramedics pick me out of bed and rush me to hospital because my condition immobilises me.”
“I was lucky enough to be approached by Medical Cannabis Awareness New Zealand to go on a trial. We developed a givealittle page and got the funding to start the trial which has been life-changing.”
“I once couldn’t get out of bed and now I feel I could backflip out of bed.
“I am only using the creams and antihistamines at the moment. The inflammation and pain has almost gone and I can tolerate the itching feeling.
“I am now eating three big meals a day, sleeping right through the night, have a much more positive outlook, and, most importantly, I am exercising. The CBD has really given me hope.”
“I only take 1.5ml [millilitres] a day and it is around $500 for a very small bottle, so I hope to keep raising money to fund it.”
