By including CBD in your diet as a health supplement, just like taking vitamins to ensure your daily intake, you can support your body’s balance to achieve homeostasis.
In recent months you may have noticed that there seems to be an endless stream of news regarding the ever increasing prevalence of CBD in the marketplace. While some people were quick to dismiss non-THC weed in the early days, it is now clear that the somewhat-lesser-respected cannabinoid is more than capable of holding its own in both the medicinal and recreational sectors. In the summer of 2017, a new company from the United Kingdom entered the fray and has been making some pretty impressive waves by doing things in their own way and achieving things which may surprise you.
Hope CBD was formed by a group of friends and associates who had first-hand experience of how CBD could improve people’s lives. Members of their close families suffered from chronic conditions, and they were impressed by the positive impact that the use of CBD as health supplement had on them. While this was hugely promising, they found that it was difficult to get consistently good quality oil even when using reputable suppliers. The lack of full regulation in the market meant that standards could fluctuate dramatically and this led to a lack of confidence which couldn’t be offset by choosing brands which had a higher cost. With very few other options, the group decided to do things properly and thereby bypass the problem.
Their journey began with a tireless search for farming partners who could provide a consistently high standard of product. Eventually they managed to locate a small organic farm in Spain where they could source their plant material and get the CO2 extractions completed before shipping to the UK. Once this was sorted they then started to consider some of the other points of concern including something which is often a barrier to some consumers: taste.
Following vigorous experimentation and testing they developed a range of oils which were mixed with various flavors to give their potential customers a wider selection of options. One of their more popular products is the ‘Advantage Plus’ oil which has a pleasing peppermint taste which is far easier on the palette but delivers a healthy dose of CBD all the same. Furthermore, they decided to offer additional options for those who want to get their CBD in different ways including infused teas and topical creams. By August 2017 they were ready to launch and they haven’t looked back since.
Over the course of the following year the team at Hope CBD have achieved great success and done things which no company has done before them. They were the first CBD company to ever advertise on television in Scotland (on STV) and this media campaign was intended to instill a sense of consumer confidence by being open and honest in the face of the stigma associated with cannabis use. Their high standards of lab testing allow them to be confident when it comes to standards and they have received a huge amount of positive feedback in response to both the TV campaign and its equivalent on Smooth Radio. With so many companies out to make a quick buck of the back of the CBD wave, some of whom are outright charlatans with no concern for the welfare or satisfaction of their customers, it’s people like those at Hope CBD who are fighting the good fight.
Reflecting on their progress so far, Craig explained that, “We knew that it was important to get our message out to people and TV is the best way to make a mark on the collective unconscious. People have seen a few examples of how cannabis can help people in various ways, such as on the TV show ‘Gone to Pot’, and it’s important to build on that to raise awareness. People have such misconceptions and many of them are simply ill-informed – including members of my own family. It took a lot of convincing for my grandmother to try one of our infused teas, but now she swears by them. In some ways we didn’t have a choice when it came to doing things differently: we couldn’t really advertise in the ways which are becoming more popular, such as social media or Google promotions, so we had to get a little more creative. People seem to like our positivity, which even spreads to our packaging, and we’ve racked up 1.3 million views on our online videos in 12 months too.”
In addition to their oils, teas and topical creams, Hope CBD now have a vaping range which is stocked in over one hundred stores and have plans in place to open a range of pop-up stalls and shops in shopping centers across the north of the country. Their name is becoming widely recognized as being associated with quality and these stores will exclusively sell their products. What may have seemed impossible only a few short years ago is now a very real aspect of our modern society, and people have been incredibly accepting of this sudden shift. Spurred on by the feedback they received, they decided to spread their reach even further.
Hamilton Academical Football Club, more commonly referred to as The Accies, are a football team who play in the Scottish Premier League alongside teams such as Celtic, Dundee and Rangers. In an unprecedented move, Hope CBD has acquired the sponsorship rights to their stadium which included the renaming rights. Having previously known as New Douglas Park, for the current season (and potentially beyond) the stadium has now been given the new title of the Hope CBD Stadium. This is a fantastic opportunity for both the club and the company to benefit from the increasing awareness of CBD and its positive potential (especially as many athletes have been verbal in their support of it as an anti-inflammatory which aids a speedy recovery), but it also means that CBD will be mentioned in passing during sports news reports and in-game commentary. This regular exposure to the cannabinoid by its common name is likely to help greatly in increasing awareness further and should provide countless opportunities for people to start asking questions about how it could potentially help them.
By including CBD in your diet as a health supplement, just like taking vitamins to ensure your daily intake, you can support your body’s balance to achieve homeostasis. For many people this means that some conditions which impact on their way of life are more effectively controlled by their internal systems and cause less of a hindrance. Often this benefit is mistaken as being medicinal, but studies show that CBD and many other cannabinoids simply act as a catalyst to regulation as opposed to anything else. CBD is not a ‘cure’ for illness, but it certainly helps us to cure ourselves. Our readers should always be careful to check the reputation of companies they buy from before purchasing to ensure that they don’t get taken for a ride. We wish the people from Hope CBD all the best for the future and hope to hear more of their success in the coming years.
