Created by breeder Mark with Greenshock Farms this strain has a perfect 1 to 1 ratio testing at 10% CBD and 10% THC. Dr Greenshock was made with a female Lavender plant crossed to a male Bubba Kush with Recon making it a unique indica dominant CBD strain. What makes this strain so special is the high terpene level.
Testing at 3.8% myrcene dominant the Dr Greenshock is one of the tastiest CBD strains I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. With all of the different cannabinoids and terpenes working together this strain gives you a mellow comfortable high and carries many medical benefits. Strain Overview:
Dr Greenshock is a rare CBD strain because of its unusually high terpene levels and indica-dominant traits. For years we have been learning more about the healing properties of cannabis and the amazing benefits of CBD (Cannabidiol). New studies are starting to show that for the maximum benefits of CBD it is best to combine it with THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol). This is what’s called the “Entourage Effect”. By combining different cannabinoids and terpenes the effect is much stronger as opposed to just one of these compounds working in isolation. This is what makes the Dr Greenshock so special and medically benefi cial.
The first time I smoked the Dr Greenshock I was very impressed by the taste. I have tried many CBD strains and normally they do not look the best or have much of a flavor profile. This not only tasted great but it had a fantastic look to the finished flower.
The smell was like an earthy, Kush-mint-eucalyptus tree dipped in honey. Sparkling in the sun light these flowers did not look like any ordinary CBD plant, they were extraordinary. When Mark first created this strain, he didn’t know what the outcome would be, but he knew it was going to be worth it. Creating this strain was the first step but what did this cross really have to offer? This is when pheno hunting is necessary and a very important step when you are trying to find something original. After growing and testing about 100 different phenotypes there was only one that had any CBD. This was how Dr Greenshock was born. It had a perfect 1 to 1 ratio with high levels of myrcene which is very rare in CBD strains.
This was not your normal hemp derived CBD plant. Pure hemp derived CBD does not carry the same effects as it does when you add THC or other cannabinoids. Have you ever wondered how you can get higher smoking something that has a lower THC percentage than another? That is because certain terpenes and cannabinoids effect you differently it is not just tetrahydrocannabinol by itself that creates that psychoactive magic. When you combine cannabinoids like CBG (Cannabigerol) and terpenes like Ocimene that both have anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties you create synergy between them that is stronger together.
Growing on the farm with Mark I was able to get up close and personal with this magnificent strain and get a better idea of how she grew. We are all very passionate about cannabis and when you fi nd something special like this that can literally heal the world you want to grow it with love. Dr Greenshock grows amazing outdoors, producing medium to large flowers that are very dense.
Traits from the Bubba Kush carry over to the beautiful bud structure of this plant with thick calyxs and a solid formation. Through the season as they begin to flower fan leaves begin to darken to an almost purple tint while the frosty buds mature to perfection. As they reach their final days of flowering resin heads turn an almost golden red and smells of lemon and menthol fill the atmosphere. This was something I could enjoy smoking every night, it was an uplifting high that relaxed my body and took away my pain. It is truly amazing when you hear stories like Charlotte’s Web that have literally saved a child’s life.
Not only is CBD something that can help with pain relief but it has been proven to stop epileptic seizures and helps stop the metastasizing of cancer. This is true natural medicine that the world should be able to use. Now that cannabis is becoming legal in more and more states there are more people trying it for the first time. Dr Greenshock is a great strain for new users who don’t want an uncomfortable high that is too strong. The high is very mellow with a balanced ratio of THC to CBD and it carries many medical benefi ts. This strain is great for anxiety, depression, pain relief and muscle relaxation.
The human body contains a specialized system called the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The body produces these endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors in your nervous system. About half of the plants that start from seed after breeding with the Dr Greenshock have CBD ratios. A great example is the Blues Chaser. Testing at 6% THC and 12% CBD this strain was created by crossing Marks Dr Greenshock with an Agent Orange x Blue Moonshine male. Blues Chaser went on to place 1st in CBD flowers at the 2019 Weed Con West and it was all made possible because of the original Dr Greenshock in its lineage.
This strain is a great outdoor plant, even with its indica dominant traits it handles the fall rain with no problems and fights off any mold. Harvesting this plant starts around October 8th making it a fairly quick producing plant. Easy to grow, looks and smells great plus has strong medicinal properties, Dr Greenshock is in my books an all-round winner. Over the past few years I have been getting into CBD strains more and learning about the many positive effects they have on patients.
Getting to grow and test the Dr Greenshock myself I realized how special this strain really was and why it stood out amongst other CBD strains. Terpenes play a big role in the overall effect of cannabis. With the high level of myrcene in the Dr Greenshock this makes it not only a pain-relieving strain but it has the ability to relax muscles and induce sleep.
I agree that pure CBD strains are great for young children that do not necessarily need the effects of THC but for older patients the Entourage Effect I feel is the best answer. Cannabinoids work as a team and have a stronger effect when they work together therefore can alleviate pain more efficiently or battle against other diseases with a greater chance of success. I am a strong believer that cannabis is the best natural healer on the planet and Dr Greenshock is something I would recommend for everyone.
