7th Annual Northern Night Music Festival - 19th -21st July 2019
It’s no longer a secret that Northern Nights Music Festival (NNMF) is Northern California’s crown jewel. What was once a hidden gem behind the Emerald Curtain now reaches through the actual fog to inspire people all over the west coast to make the journey to Northern Nights. It’s an escape from reality, constructing a community of friends and strangers alike over the course of 72 hours. Taking place July 19-21, 2019, NNMF has proven that itembraces forward-thinking change with each annual convergence, continuously striving to be the future of festivals.
Every Summer, NNMF blooms an inclusive atmosphere for three days each year in a celebration of unity through music, yoga, art, culture, experiences, and discovery — all tinged with innovation. This year, NNMF is bringing a dynamic lineup to Northern California which includes headliners
Big Wild — who’s pushing the boundaries of modern electronic music with his sweeping soundscapes —and Southern California tastemakers and record label Desert Hearts bringing the techno/house vibes.NN has never been about traditional music. As hospitality entrepreneur Chip Conely said, “Northern Nights is not your cookie cutter festival” and as festival co-founder Andrew Blap says, “NNMF has the best lineup that no one knows about.
After our fans discover their new favorite artist on the river, they’ll find that same artist selling out their next show in the Bay Area.” This year is no different, with indigenous hip-hop artist Xiuhtezcatl (pronounced shu-TEZ-catl)— a climate change activist who also collaborated with Jaden Smith just last month, Noodles— a Filipino woman from the Bay Area who has an alter ego as Kehlani’s DJ, and Dirtybird’s all-star Sacha Robotti. Diversifying the lineup even further are notable bass acts CharlestheFirst and Shades (Eprom x Alix Perez), funk-fueled Con Brio and The Funk Hunters, the electronic-dance sounds of Australia’s Crooked Colours, a takeover hosted by Burning Man’s DISTRIKTcamp, and hip-hop’s Odie from San Francisco’s Empire Records.
NNMF is located directly off Highway 101 and is easily accessible from the north or the south — it’s only 3.5 hours from San Francisco. The location is pristine, nestled on the historic Cook’s Valley Campground on the border of Mendocino and Humboldt Counties. Upon arriving, the lack of cell reception gives attendees the ability to completely unplug. The sense of adventure the location instills is like nothing else, with the freedom to dip into the Eel River by the River Stage, dance amidst the redwoods at the Grove Stage, peruse art installations, and seclude yourself in the sounds of the Silent Disco. Combined, the festival features a total of six immersive stages including the return of The Bunker Stage— a natural amphitheater overlooking the river. After the best winter rain in 20 years on the Eel River aka The California Nile, swimming is expected to be prime, too.
Tickets are on sale now here, but act fast — 2018’s festival hit capacity and this year’s Early Eel tickets sold out quick. VIP and camping upgrades are also available as extra perks.
