Professor,
AHHHHH! I’ve got some kind of fungus growing on my buds! I guess I haven’t been drying them fast enough because there are these white threads growing on some of my buds. I saved as many as I could and set them out to dry faster. Is there anything I can do to save the tainted ones? I promise to sanitize my grow area and try not to ever let this happen again but I hate to see this stuff go to waste. I mean, if it’s a loss then it’s a loss and I’ve learned my lesson.
Any help would be great.
Schroomed.
Dear Schroomed,
The white threads growing on your buds could be a fungus or a mold/mildew. Either way it sucks, sorry for your situation. You are doing the right thing by sanitizing your grow area to prevent future problems so try to do that between each crop and keep the area as clean as possible at all times. Dry your remaining buds and carefully check them for any tiny infection. You don’t want to smoke odd microbes as they can make you very sick.
Now, put the ‘tainted’ buds in a plastic bag and put them in your freezer for a few days. You can save them by processing the buds into a water hash or some kind of extract using oil or alcohol.
Professor Lee.
